Eating To Improve Skin Elasticity
It is undeniable that your diet affects your skin health and your skin elasticity as you age. You need to eat a healthy diet high in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants to make a difference to your skin. In particular, you need to lower your intake of fats, salt and sugar and increase your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables.
While there is no simple food that you can eat that will improve skin elasticity, there are some foods that help improve skin elasticity in aging skin. Below are two examples of foods that do just that.
1. Omega 3 Fatty Acids. Omega 3 fatty acids are found in foods such as oily fish (e.g., wild salmon) and are very good for your heart health as well as your skin health. But you must consume Omega 3 fatty acids on a regular basis to see a difference. Wild salmon two to three times a week is a good start.
2. Seaweed. Seaweed is another food that is very good for skin elasticity. Not just any old seaweed, but a seaweed that is found around the coast of Japan called phytessence wakame. The Japanese have eaten phytessence wakame for centuries, fresh and dried. And its no coincidence that Japanese women have the worlds best skin right into old age.
There are many more foods that contain ingredients that are beneficial to your skin. The key is to identify and eliminate those that are most detrimental to your health and ultimatley skin and replace them with those proven to have positive effects on your overall well being.
