fitness-classThe elixir of youth is exercise.  But, it doesn’t work if you don’t do it.  The Center for Disease Control recommends that we exercise at least 30 minutes most days of the week.  However, one in four of you reading this post do not exercise at all. Yes, I’m talking about you.  Don’t look around the room, roll your eyes or give me that puzzled look.  If you’re not exercising, it’s time to get started!

The best way to maintain your youthful looks is to exercise.  Exercise is vital for your health.  Not only can exercise take off pounds, reduce the incidence of heart disease, lower blood pressure, improve mood, solve sleep problems and cut the risk of certain cancers, it will also ensure that you have beautiful skin.  Exercise benefits the skin in much the same way it improves bone and muscle quality.

With exercise, the skin is thicker and has more and healthier collagen, the fibers that give skin its strength and flexibility.  Exercise also increases circulation and gives the skin a healthy, radiant glow.  As long as you use moderation and don’t overdo it, exercise of almost any kind has a powerful, positive and anti-inflammatory effect on your cells.  Just 30 to 45 minutes at least three to four times per week is all you need.
