A History Of Anti-Aging Eye Products

Once upon a time, anti-aging eye products such as eye creams were completely unheard of. The concept of trying to reverse the aging process or putting on any type of beautifying cream was simply out of the question. As time progressed, technology began to keep up with the desires of consumers and started producing all manner of creams and solvents in order to help the fairest of the sexes achieve perfection.

Unfortunately, a lot of eye products such as eye creams were little more than smoke and mirrors, often causing more damage than they cured. With these types of products available, women began to become a large portion of the consumer society, purchasing products that were intended to help them reverse the aging process, beautify their skin and look their best.

As time passed, however, the formulation and propagation of these types of products became a little bit safer and a lot more effective. During the colonial ages, makeup and beautifying products were generally limited to juices and berries and all manner of coloring agents found in every possible corner of the world. Mixed with lead, arsenic, unidentified products and even plain old common mud from the yard, these different types of anti-aging creams and products were simply all that was available to women of the age.

In the modern day, the amount of different anti-aging eye products are staggering. Made from a variety of organic and inorganic products, there is literally no end to the eye creams and rejuvenation potions that can be found almost anywhere in any developed nation.

But, even in the modern day, there are some difficulties with achieving the full benefit of the use of anti-aging eye creams and products. Mainly is the fact that most women do not start using these types of products until much of the damage is already done.

The focus of most of the formulations of anti-aging eye creams and beautifying health and youth products is to firm up the skin and reduce the signs of aging by preventing and erasing wrinkles. Once the damage has been done, wrinkles begin to form and all the creams in the world can only cover the problem, rather than cure it. By beginning with the steady use of anti-aging eye creams and other anti-wrinkle products, young ladies can minimize the damage over their lifetime by eliminating much of the sagging flesh and skin and replacing it with firm and well toned beauty.

This steady use of anti-aging eye products such as eye creams from an early age can make all the difference in the world and help young ladies to keep all of their youth and beauty well into their older years. Waiting too long will simply allow these wrinkles and sagging skin to build up and cause a network of fine lines that are difficult to remove. Eye creams can only fill these sagging lines in, like mortar in the joints of a masonry wall, rather than completely curing them and firming the skin the way the cream is designed to do.

While the skin absorbs up to 60% of what we apply to it, it is essential to use the purest ingredients in order to achieve the beauty that we desire. Organic mineral makeup and natural cosmetics helps to prevent irritation, while natural eye cream helps to prevent damage and beautify skin.

This is a FIRST LOOK of a brand new release from La Mer: The Eye Balm Intense.

To start the review, I feel that I need to mention a little history of this product. So, as you may know, The Eye Balm was the predecessor to The Eye Balm Intense. Out of all of La Mer’s product range, The Eye Balm was always one of their under achievers. The packaging was a bit awkward, it didn’t really stand out amidst an array of other heavy-hitting options. In fact, The Eye Balm became notorious for being a hit or miss product for people (there didn’t seem to be a middle-ground). In fact, it scored in the mid-three range on makeup alley out of 175 reviews, which is a very average rating. For these reasons, I am not surprised that La Mer decided to discontinue The Eye Balm and come out with a bit more innovative and substantial option…that being the brand new Eye Balm Intense.

From what I can tell from comparing these two eye balms (The Eye Balm and The Eye Balm Intense), I have a feeling that the newer version will fare a bit better. There are many similarities between the original Eye Balm and this second generation eye balm. The color is the same (a small amount of Green #5), and the consistency is similar. However, the product has been reformulated with what I would consider significantly higher quality ingredients. For one, there are no parabens in The Eye Balm Intense, whereas the eye balm had one form of a paraben, though in an extremely small quantity
